Dr. Stefan C. Dombrowski brings a rare combination of clinical, research, and educational expertise in psychological assessment. For more than 25 years, he has served as Professor and Director of the Graduate Program in School Psychology at Rider University, where he mentors graduate students, conducts research on psychological assessment, and maintains an active practice providing forensic, clinical, and educational evaluations.
A prolific scholar, Dr. Dombrowski has authored five books and more than 135 peer-reviewed articles and chapters on psychological assessment and related topics. He has specialized training and recognized expertise in assessment across school-based, forensic, and clinical settings. His forensic work includes evaluations of parenting capacity, custodial placement, termination of parental rights, and bonding/attachment. He also conducts second-opinion educational evaluations to determine the appropriateness of special education eligibility and placement. Dr. Dombrowski has testified as an expert witness in New Jersey and California.
He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical psychology at the University of California, Davis Medical Center; earned his Ph.D. in School and Counseling Psychology from the University of Georgia; and holds an undergraduate degree from William & Mary. He also earned an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut, reflecting a prior career in finance.
